It’s my honor to serve as the Principal at Prairieview and I look forward to working with students, parents, and staff to create an environment focused on growth!
My journey as an educator over the past 23 years has allowed me to learn from many amazing people in several different roles. The journey started in Cairo, Egypt as a student teacher before coming to central Iowa to teach science at Des Moines Lincoln for ten years and Prairieview for four years. I transitioned to serving as an Instructional Coach at South Middle School and Waukee High School for five years before becoming an administrator. After two years as the Assistant Principal at Timberline, I came back to Prairieview to serve as the Assistant Principal and now have the privilege of serving as the Principal. It’s great to be back where the Waukee journey began!
My wife, Dawn, is a Literacy Interventionist at South Middle School and an online instructor at Simpson College. We enjoy spending time with our children Rudy (18), Harrison (16), and Ritchina (15). In my free time, I enjoy playing the drums in the all-educator band, Faculty Lounge, as well as mountain biking.
Let me extend the warmest welcome to the families of Prairieview. It is a pleasure to serve as the Principal and I look forward to working with you this school year!
