Girls Soccer Team Is State Runner Up

The Waukee Warrior Girls Soccer team lost to Ankeny in the State Championship game to finish as the state runner-up. After defeating Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson to qualify for state, the Warriors shutout Pleasant Valley in the quarterfinals winning by a score of 2-0.  In the semifinals, Waukee Warrior defeated Ankeny Centennial in an exciting penalty kick shootout to advance to the state finals for the first time since 2003.  In the final, Ankeny scored the games only goal with just 1:38 to go in regulation to win 1-0.

The Warriors finished the season with a 17-4 record.
